Rescuing 2nd Chance

October 24, 2013 White Rock Rescue received a call from Jackie from Colorado and she was so upset by a horse on the Devore Animal Shelter Site. After numerous other calls WRR knew it was in the horses best interest to check into this.

WRR called Devore and it was true, a gelding horse was up for adoption and the highest bidder would own him. Jackie and many others came to his rescue and finally with donated money, Dory bid on him at 6:00 p.m.at the shelter. This was a long night as everyone waited until the wonderful news came from Devore at 9:00 a.m. the next day, that he was theirs.

October 25, 2013 with this loving group effort, the horse known as A574329 was coming to his new home to be loved and fed. Michelle, Heather, and I drove to the shelter right after the news, and Dory met us there and signed him over to WRR; then Dory helped get him into the trailer, and away A574329 went to WRR.

After A574329 arrived and he found his place in a small herd where the special horses live, he started eating. Then he ate, then he ate, and then he rested, then he ate some more. With free grazing on Bermuda and special food twice a day we have already seen a happier horse. Jackie was right, he is worth a million dollars to the right person and his eyes are so kind. Jackie and everyone who was part of this wonderful "save" have named him 2nd Chance and we are pleased to present him to you.

Right now donations are being asked for to help pay for his special Nutrena food, his feet until corrected, and hay and pellets for daily feed. If you would like to donate and be part of his recovery please feel free to do so @ www.WhiteRockHorseRescue.org. WRR expresses our dearest thanks and so does 2nd Chance as he starts his new journey.
