Fall Horse Camp 2013 Part One

Camp is always a great adventure for the kids involved as well as the adults. We try to make camp both fun and educational for the kids. They also learn to be more independent in taking care of themselves by being responsible for taking care of the horses, preparing meals, and cleaning up after themselves.

On the first day of camp, we walked down to see Mr. Jack who taught us all about roping.

After the instruction period, it's was time for each camper to give it a try.

The kids had a blast, and he allowed each kid to be successful at the task before moving on to the next child.

Once we got back from the roping class, it was time to get the horses ready for a ride.

The kids rode around the arena to get comfortable with the feel of riding before, heading out onto the fun track. Some of the kids had never ridden a horse before, so this was a whole new experience. There were lots of grins to be shared.
